To the elements it came from everything will return;
our bodies to earth, our blood to water,
heat to fire, breath to air.

Acis and Galatea (speculative design)
Embassy theatre
CSSD
A speculative reimagining of Handel's opera Acis and Galatea. Drawing inspiration from Greek myth, geometry, and Sicilian topography, this production attempts a theatrical manifestation of the Empedoclean Cosmic Cycle. The characters of Acis, Galatea and Polyphemus are represented by unfold-able pyramids embodying elemental forms; vegetation (plain of Catania), water (Mediterranean sea) and rock (Etna).
